The JAGS Choral Society is an adult choir which rehearses every term-time Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 at James Allen's Girls School in East Dulwich. Click here to see how near you are.
It started as a group of parents to support the school choirs - especially by adding tenors and basses.
Now it exists as a separate choir of around 80 singers, including all voices (SATB), made up of parents, ex-parents, friends and people who live in the area. Anyone who enjoys singing!
It is a very friendly group and welcomes all singers as a Community Choir.
Although there are no auditions, we do expect people to be able to sing in tune. Reading music is a big help but
not absolutely necessary.
If you're not sure whether you'd like it, come along and see! - taster visits are free.
If you want to join as a choir member, normal fees are £50 per term or £120 for the year. Concessions apply. More information from email@example.com
We are grateful to James Allen Girls' School whose generous support enables the choir to continue and flourish.
In the last year we had a number of memorable concerts including the magnificent Verdi Requiem in March in the Festival Hall when we joined with a number of other adult and school choirs together with full orchestra and Verdi's Pater Noster sung unaccompanied in St John's, Smith Square, in April.
On 8th December we took part in the JAGS Christmas Concert in Southwark Cathedral. We perfomed Bach's Magnificat together with the JAGS Holst Choir and Chamber Orchestra; three new Christmas carol arrangements by Peter Gritton, JAGS Director of Music; and an original carol by Jonathan Lee, a member of the JAGS music department. A complete pleasure! See the concert programme here 7.6MB
